Essential : Educational & Other Qualifications:- Essential: (i) At least Second Class Master's degree of a recognised University or equivalent in Indian History or Archaeology, with an Indian Classical language as a subject at degree level. OR (i) At least Second Class Mater's degree of a recognised University or equivalent in an Indian Classical language with Indian History or Archaeology as a subject at degree level. ii) 3 years practical experience in field Archaeology. iii) Knowledge of Konkani Desirable: (i) Knowledge of Indian Paleography. (ii) Knowledge of Marathi. Note: Candidates, who have not offered an Indian Classical language or Indian History or Archaeology as the case may be, as a subject at degree level, will also be considered; but if selected, they will be required to pass special Departmental Examination in the relevant subject before confirmation. Note: Qualifications relaxable at the discretion of the Goa Public Service Commission in case of candidates otherwise well qualified; in particular the qualifications regarding experience is relaxable in case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes or Scheduled Tribes for posts reserved for them.
