Essential : Educational & Other Qualifications:- Essential: (i) Certificate of Competency as Master of Foreign going Steamship (Valid throughout the Commonwealth). (ii) Certificate of Sight test inform-vision issued by the Mercantile Marine Department of the Government of India. (iii) About 5 years experience as Chief Officer in Foreign going Steamship. (Qualifications relaxable at Commission’s discretion in case of candidates otherwise well qualified). (Iv)Knowledge of Konkani Desirable: (i) Knowledge of Marathi. (ii) Knowledge of Inland Vessels Act, Merchant Shipping Act. etc. (iii) Experience in organization and development of major ports, inland water traffic, running of ferry Services.
